I forgot to mention my mom’s camera the Canon SX40HS, I may use this during my 365 adventure. I think this is one of the best, if not the best, point and shoot camera out there now. It has DSLR like features in manual mode, with all the ease and simplicity of a regular point and shoot camera. One of my favorite features of this camera is the Movie Digest feature. With the Movie Digest feature activated the camera will automatically record a short video clip (up to approximately 4 seconds) every time you shoot a still image.
